SPTV Projects Awarded at the WORLD MEDIA FESTIVAL
On May 7, the major winners of the 27th edition of the World Media Festival – Television & Corporate Media Awards were announced. Among them were three projects from the SPTV GROUP, which received a Gold Medal for the series Cold Haven (Refúgio do Medo), and Silver Medals for the telenovela Vitória and the youth series Red Moon: New Generation, all in the Entertainment Episodic category.
Considered one of the most prestigious international awards in the audiovisual industry, the World Media Festival annually recognizes outstanding projects in television, film, digital media, press, and corporate communications. The annual celebration in Berlin reflects the evolution of the media landscape and its power to connect people, brands, and ideas on a global scale.
Cold Haven, a co-production with Icelandic company Glassriver for RTP and Símmin, marks the first partnership between Portugal and Iceland, blending Nordic noir with Southern European influences. This psychological thriller follows the investigation into the violent death of a woman on a remote Icelandic island, uncovering deep secrets and tensions within an isolated community.
Produced for OPTO (SIC) and Prime Video, Red Moon: New Generation draws inspiration from the universe that won over thousands of fans in 2010 and returns 16 years later with a new generation and new threats that put the balance between different supernatural species at risk.
The telenovela Vitória, a Turkish adaptation by SP Televisão for SIC, OPTO, and Disney+, centers on the story of a woman fighting to regain custody of her children against all the adversity and injustice imposed on her by the family of her late husband.
With these distinctions, SP Televisão and SPi projects add three more international awards to their achievements, further positioning Portuguese fiction among the best in the world.
