SPi attends 74th Berlin International Film Festival

Pedro Lopes, General Director of Content, Manuel Claro, Head of Business and Co-productions and Renata Ribeiro, Head of International Co-productions, are in Berlin not only to network, but also to monitor the status and progress of projects with partners and to listen to the international market.

From the 15th of this month until the 25th, the 74th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival, better known as the "Berlinale", one of the most important audiovisual markets in the world, is taking place.

Opened in June 1951 and held since 1978 in February of each year, it is part of the so-called "Golden Trio" of film festivals in Europe, along with Cannes in France, which takes place in May, and Venice in Italy, at the end of August or beginning of September.

At the festival, a great variety of films from different genres, styles and backgrounds are screened, providing a platform for filmmakers, producers and film industry professionals to connect, negotiate projects and promote their work.

The program of this 74th edition of the Berlinale includes four films with Portuguese production and co-production, in different sections of the festival, three national "talents", and a series co-produced by RTP, starring Margarida Vila-Nova and Afonso Pimentel.
