DE PERDIDOS A RIO, a co-production between SPi and Spain premieres on Spanish big screens

On August 4, Sony Pictures will premiere in cinemas (in Spain) the film DE PERDIDOS A RIO. An action comedy starring Pablo Chiapella, Esther Acebo, Fran Perea and Carlos Santos. The film also includes the participation of a Portuguese cast, especially Paulo Pires, João Lagarto and Gonçalo Cabral.

It is about the hilarious story of the trip of three friends - Pedro, Kiko and David - to Rio de Janeiro, where they go to pick up the dead body of Mateo, a childhood friend who died in strange circumstances. However, when they arrive in Brazil, nothing is as it seems - Mateo, the "dead" man, has actually run away, the house where he lives has been turned upside down and his "lawyer" is desperately looking for him.

What would be a quiet trip becomes a roller-coaster of emotions and our protagonists don't know what they are going to find around every corner.

Directed by Joaquín Mazón, with a screenplay by Antonio Mercero, Daniel Corpas, Juana Macías, from an original story by Jean Christophe Gra, this film, in the words of producer Jose Alba, is "a dynamic light comedy and hooligan of colleagues in the midst of a mid-life crisis". 

DE PERDIDOS A RIO is a co-production of Spanish production companies Pecado Films, La Claqueta PC, and Mozi Capital AIE with SPi, in association with Sony Pictures International Productions and the participation of Prime Video.

Set in an idyllic scenario, DE PERDIDOS A RIO was filmed in the Canary Islands and Rio de Janeiro, with stops in Lisbon.
